Girls today are suffering from a confidence-crisis!

Research shows that a girl's self esteem peaks at age 9 and plummets from there. Even high-achieving girls struggle to know their worth; 30% of girls with a 4.0 GPA don't think they are smart enough for their dream job.

Eight years ago, our daughter missed the bus. For the first time in her life, our strong, confident, sociable young lady felt defeated. She felt that she could not do anything right, that she was a bad person, and that it would be best if she wasn’t around anymore. I frantically reached for the phone and scheduled a therapy session for the next day, but it was another sort of program that made a more lasting impression on our daughter. Later that same day, Danni came home with a smile on her face, waving a paper around in her hand declaring, "I have the solution to all of my problems!"

Since her first attendance to an A Beautiful Me workshop, Danni has grown exponentially in her confidence. She is an advocate against bullying and isn't afraid to stand strong alongside another human being. She has matured into her confidence and tackled some of life's toughest decisions with dignity and grace. We are proud of the woman she has become and the leader she will be in the future.

All of this began because one person made the decision to help ALL girls find empowerment through positive self-worth. Our greatest appreciation goes out to Karen Palka and A Beautiful Me, and we wish to see more girls benefit from these services so that they, too, can become confident and strong leaders within their communities.
